Book & Teacher

This Class was offered at Al-Qur'an wa As-Sunnah Society of NY Masjid in Queens.

The Book we used was: Al-Arabiyah bayna yadayk - Vol. 1

You can find this book as PDF with its audio online. Its PDF is found in this blog as well. You should note that this book teaches you very little grammar in its content. The book focuses on teaching the vocabularies. In Vol. 2 of this book series, the grammar is taught that you will notice from first chapter. The grammar you find in this blog, this was from the teacher. You will find this same grammar at Vol. 2 and in 3 as well I believe. Insha-Allah.

And our teacher was: Dr. Asraf Fahmy with PhD. in Arabic. He teaches in Azhar University and also has his own center to teach Arabic in Egypt. He is native Egyptian.

Alhamdulillah, the Course was of GrEaT benefit that every single student will say. Everyone learned so much in 4 weeks course that you will be astonished to see how great progress every single student made. Alhamdulillah. All with the blessing of Allah first, then with the effort of our great caring teacher. Alhamdulillah.

Course Work on the Book

Alhamdulillah for level 1: Unit 1 to 10 has been covered but unit 9 has been skipped because the teacher thought he covered it while he didn't. And no one seemed to care to mention it to him well so he could go over it. Mash-Allah.

For level 2: Unit 9 to 13 has been covered Alhamdulillah. We had little time compared to the level 1, so we could not finish last 3 chapters. It's ok. But i really wished to finish the book with the Shaykh very much. Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal.

Alhamdulillah, whatever we learned, we learned it well. Shaykh would go over the dialogs and then vocabularies well with us. Alhamdulillah. And he taught us a lot grammar - pretty Advance but Alhamdulillah because of his method of teaching, all were easy. Alhamdulillah.

Grammar was the easy part for me as all of it were review and learning in a new method made it much easier and also made it firm in my understanding. Alhamdulillah.

I learned a lot of new words which was the most important thing for me to learn and also the getting the chance to practice upon the tongue. Alhamdulillah, i do believe speaking is pretty easy for me now. My tongue is much lighter than before in speaking Arabic. Alhamdulillah. Many of us improved a great deal on speaking Arabic. Alhamdulillah.

Last class grammar, a part of it was new to me. Alhamdulillah.
